The course introduces new users to JAWS or provides a guided exploration of advanced functions for more experienced users. The full day course can be divided into two half-day sessions to ensure the training is effective.

Learn how to use the writing, studying and research support tools provided in the Kurzweil 3000 software. Practice using the tools and practice importing and exporting documents with different formats. Document preparation, toolbar customization and accessibility features will also be explored. This is a half-day course that starts with basic writing and extends to an overview of customizable program settings.

Kurzweil 1000 (Kurzweil 3000 for users with low vision)
Kurzweil 1000 has all of the same functions that are relevant to non-visual users. You will learn to use the tools and practice importing and exporting documents with different formats. This is a half-day course that starts with basic writing and summarizes all the customizable features.

ZoomText and Windows Keystrokes (Quick Keys)
This course reviews all the functions of the magnifier and reader, including customization and advanced reading features. It also covers using common Windows keystrokes to use ZoomText more efficiently.

Computer Basics and Troubleshooting
Computer technology changes with time, but the basic terms and functions remain the same. This course covers loading and unloading programs, managing security issues and basic computer terminology. Understand how computers function, check for compatibility issues, and follow safe computing practices online.

Accessibility Tips for Mobile Devices: iOS (iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch) and Android
More people use mobile technologies as essential tools for daily life and the accessibility features for these devices are developing as well. Customizing the display, using alternative access functions and managing security functions results in a smoother experience.
This three-hour course is $30 per person, with a minimum five participants. A one-on-one training session is $150.00.

AAC Software: Proloquo2Go, Predictable and other communication tools
Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) software users can use archived words, customize spelling and pronunciation guides, adjust voice settings and create new buttons based on home, work and school contexts.
This three hour course is $60 per person, with a minimum of three participants. A three-hour session for one person is $180. Register below or contact us to discuss your course needs.
Assistive Technology Overview
If you work with people with disabilities or wish to explore the types of products available for a range of disabilities, an overview based on products on the market can be essential to addressing needs. This course provides background knowledge on how specific types of products work to allow you to make cost effective decisions more independently.
This three hour course is $60/person, with a minimum of three participants. Contact us for a flat fee for a group of 6 or more attendees.

Career Development and AT Skills: Carrying AT Skills into Daily Lives
Most students and employees who use writing support software such as Kurzweil 3000 for work or school do not use these tools during their leisure time. This course reinforces lifelong AT software use for more independence and provides useful job application suggestions. AT software that may be covered in this course: Kurzweil 3000, Spark Space, Inspiration, WordQ Speak Q and Read and Write Gold.
This three hour course is based on the regular half day rate. For more than 10 participants, call us to negotiate a flat fee.

Three to five people
Training three to five people with similar needs together can be cost effective and allows trainees to learn from others. It also allows for more customization of the program.
Price per participant: $265 for a full day training session (8 hours); $133 for a half-day session
Training Format: in-person training for most situations; online if appropriate
Small class of 6 to 9
All the benefits of a group experience at a lower cost per individual.
Price per participant: $130 for a full day session (8 hours); $65 for a half-day session
Training format: in-person; other formats offered if the program and level of experience of the participants allows for an effective session.
For all courses: Travel costs involved with providing training and taxes are not included in training fees.
